The profitability of STEM and the vanity of the Arts and Humanities As I have observed, nobody questions your choice of study if you answer with a business or a STEM subject when you are asked about your major. Because it makes sense to study those. Because you will supposedly have a future in those fields. Because the government and the industries tell you that that is where the future and the money lies.

Experiencing is the keyI studied at Furtwangen University for three semesters and I got to experience a lot. I don't regret my time there and I also don't think that it was a waste of time. I got to know some nice people, I learnt quite a few things and of course I still can make use of the experiences I gained there even after leaving that university.

Of course, every time I mention this when I meet new people, they are surprised, since Japanese studies and economics are two entirely different majors.
