The profitability of STEM and the vanity of the Arts and Humanities As I have observed, nobody questions your choice of study if you answer with a business or a STEM subject when you are asked about your major. Because it makes sense to study those. Because you will supposedly have a future in those fields. Because the government and the industries tell you that that is where the future and the money lies.
First, what I've been up to I actually was not intending to take a break from my blog, but somehow it seems like I did, because the last time I posted was almost a year ago, last April to be exact. I think this is the most inactive I have ever been on my blog.
University has started once again with the cherry blossom season. You would think that this is the time to go out with friends, to admire the cherry blossoms and to enjoy the warm spring breeze under the bright sunshine.
To be honest, I hesitated to upload this post. I had to leave it for a while, but in the end I decided to upload it, otherwise you wouldn't be able to read it right at this moment. So it turned out that I in fact did not post as much as I said I wanted to. However, now that the first semester is over, I feel like writing about my thoughts again, since I do not really talk about those in my videos.
It has gotten a little quieter around here since I went to Japan. In the beginning I thought that I would post more frequently once I am in Japan, but of course university happened and above all of that I found a new hobby.

Experiencing is the key I studied at Furtwangen University for three semesters and I got to experience a lot. I don't regret my time there and I also don't think that it was a waste of time. I got to know some nice people, I learnt quite a few things and of course I still can make use of the experiences I gained there even after leaving that university.
Searching for a place to fit in My university was located in a small town in the Black Forest. The lectures began in March and when I arrived there, it was still cold and the ground was still covered in snow. Schwenningen is a quiet city with two universities.

Losing the confidence in something you really used to love As I mentioned in a few posts already, I studied International economics before finally deciding to change universities to study Modern Japanese studies. Of course, every time I mention this when I meet new people, they are surprised, since Japanese studies and economics are two entirely different majors.
